The 31st match of the T20 World Cup 2024 was played between South Africa and Nepal today on 15 June. In this match, Aiden Markram’s team batted first and gave a target of 116 runs to Nepal. But Nepal could only score 114 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs and South Africa registered a thrilling win by 1 run.

Nepal’s team did not win the match but the way the team fought is commendable. Meanwhile, the 105 meter long six hit by Nepal’s batsman Sompal Kami during the match has become a topic of discussion on social media.

Sompal Kami hit a skyscraper six in the 19th over

The 19th over of Nepal’s innings was bowled by Anrich Nortje. On the second ball of the over, the bowler dismissed Kushal Malla (1). After which Sompal Kami came to the crease. He could not score any runs in the first two balls of his innings. But then facing the third ball, Sompal Kami hit a 105 meter long six towards square leg. After this six, Nepal needed 7 runs in 10 balls to win. On the last ball of the 19th over, Sompal Kami was again successful in taking 2 runs.

A big upset could have been seen again today

Nepal needed 8 runs in the last over to win the match against South Africa. No runs were scored in the first two balls of this over bowled by Otniel Bartman. After which the pressure increased on batsman Gulshan Jha, he then hit a four towards over cover on the third wide yorker ball.

Gulshan Jha was again successful in taking two runs on the next ball. No run was scored on the fifth ball of the over, which means if Nepal had taken one run on the last ball, it would have been a super over. But while taking a run on the last ball, Gulshan Jha got run out, and South Africa won by 1 run.
