On the other hand, both Surrey batsmen wanted to save their wickets. Jack Leach bowled an off-cutter which hit Worrell’s pad. The entire Somerset team made a strong appeal and the umpire did not delay in raising his finger.

Talking about the match, Somerset won the toss and batted first in the first innings and were all out for 317 runs. Tom Banton scored the highest 132 runs in 172 balls, Tom Abel contributed 49 and Archie Vaughan contributed 44 runs. For Surrey, Shakib Al Hasan took the highest 4 wickets for 97 runs in 33.5 overs in the first innings.

Surrey’s team then scored 321 runs in the first innings. Tom Curran scored the highest 86 runs in 75 balls. Ryan Patel scored 70 runs in 192 balls. For Somerset, Archie Vaughan took 6 wickets for 102 runs in 37 overs and Jack Leach took 4 wickets for 105 runs in 48.2 overs.

Somerset scored 224 runs in the second innings and Surrey got a target of 221 runs to win. Shakib Al Hasan also played brilliantly in the second innings for Surrey. He took 5 wickets for 96 runs in 29.3 overs. Craig Overton scored the highest 49 runs for Somerset.

While chasing the target, Surrey lost 6 wickets at a score of 96. Dom Sibley was playing a good innings, but lost his wicket at 56 runs against Jack Leach in the 62nd over. After Sibley’s dismissal, no batsman could reach double digit score and the team was all out at 109 runs.

Jack Leach took 5 wickets for 37 runs in 37 overs, he also bowled 24 maiden overs. Archie Vaughan took 5 wickets for 38 runs in 32 overs.
