Faf du Plessis was the captain of RCB in IPL 2024.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had released Faf du Plessis before the upcoming IPL season and till now the franchise has not even announced the name of the new captain. Now in such a situation, there is only one question in the minds of the fans, there is doubt about who will captain the team in IPL 2025. However, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin believes that Virat Kohli will be the captain of RCB in IPL 2025.
Talking about the squad of Royal Challengers Bangalore after the mega auction for IPL 2025, Ashwin said that he has no option other than Virat for captaincy. Just a few days ago, former South African captain AB de Villiers had predicted that Virat Kohli will lead the franchise next year. Virat Kohli left the captaincy of RCB after 2021.
R Ashwin made a big prediction regarding Virat Kohli
Now R Ashwin said on his YouTube channel, “There is every possibility that Virat Kohli will captain the team. I feel the same way because they didn’t go for the captain. If he doesn’t go with anyone then I don’t see anyone other than Virat Kohli as captain.”
Regarding RCB’s auction, the spinner further said, “I think their auction was very excellent. Many teams had brought crores of rupees in their purse. They were spending fast but RCB waited even after having a lot of money. Who needs it, they’re the ones I need. My entire team is important. My 12 or 14 people are important.
Let us tell you that in the mega auction held in Jeddah, RCB bought players like Tim David, Josh Hazlewood, Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma. Now it remains to be seen which playing XI he will field with in the upcoming season and whether he can get them their first title or not.
