Dockrell will play for the team for the rest of the season
Ireland cricket team all-rounder George Dockrell has joined the Lancashire team for the remaining Vitality Blast 2024 season. Let us tell you that the club has signed this contract with Dockrell as a foreign player quota.
So after this contract, Dockrell will be seen playing directly for the team in the Vitality Blast T20 match against Notts Outlaws at Emirates Old Trafford. Apart from this, he is also expected to be available for the team in the knockout matches to be held in September.
George Dockrell gave a big statement
On the other hand, after joining the Lancashire team for the tournament, George Dockrell said – I am happy to join the club for the remainder of this season’s Vitality Blast season. I am looking forward to performing like a silver lining for the team this season.
We are in a really strong position in the North Group, with two crucial home matches left, as we look to secure the all-important home quarter-final at Emirates Old Trafford in September.
On the other hand, after George Dockrell joined the Lancashire team, head coach Dale Benkenstein said – We are really pleased to have George join our team for the remainder of this year’s Vitality Blast. With the possibility of knockout round matches in September and uncertainty over player availability, George gives us another overseas option for the later stages.
He will go straight into the squad for the final two matches of the group stage this week and offer us an experienced left-arm spin option, while he can also be a match-winner with the bat in the finisher’s role as he has proven at international level with Ireland.
