Shoaib Akhtar holds the record for bowling the fastest ball

Shoaib Akhtar, popularly known as the ‘Rawalpindi Express’, began his career in 1997 where he intimidated batsmen with his dangerous pace and precise yorkers. He took 178 wickets in 46 Tests, and his last Test was against India in Bengaluru in 2007.

He took 247 wickets in ODI cricket, while he took 19 wickets in 15 T20 matches. Shoaib Akhtar still holds the record for bowling the fastest ball, which he bowled at a speed of 161.3 kmph against England batsman Nick Knight in the 2003 World Cup.
