New Zealand Test captain Tim Southee is fully prepared for the challenges in the Test format. Let us tell you, the New Zealand team has to play 9 more matches in this cycle of the World Test Championship, out of which the first 6 will be played in the subcontinent. They have to play a single Test against Afghanistan in Greater Noida next week.

This will be their first Test match in the subcontinent in the remaining 9 Tests. After this, the New Zealand team will play a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in their home. After this, Tim Southee and company have to play a three-match Test series against India. Tim Southee is hopeful that the team is fully prepared for the upcoming challenges and they would definitely want to register a win by performing brilliantly in the subcontinent.

New Zealand Cricket has shared a video on its official social media account in which Tim Southee has said, ‘I am very excited for the remaining 6 Tests in the subcontinent. This will be a great challenge for us. We have some players who are playing cricket continuously. There were some players in the camp held in New Zealand as well. That’s why we would like to perform well in Test cricket. In a very short time, we will have to play the remaining 9 Tests and the fans will also be very excited for this.’

Tim Southee further said, ‘Ben Sears and William O’Rourke are new to Test cricket but we have seen them performing brilliantly in other formats. I am confident that after ODIs and T20s, both these players will be seen performing brilliantly in the Test format as well.

I had performed brilliantly in The Hundred tournament. However, now the format has completely changed and I would like to continue this form in Tests as well. It is a good thing that I have got a little break between The Hundred tournament and Test cricket. Now my focus will be on Test cricket and I would like to play an important role in my team’s victory.

The only Test match between New Zealand and Afghanistan is starting on September 9. The New Zealand team has reached the team hotel in Greater Noida on September 5 for this Test match.
