The Caribbean team will host South Africa for two Test matches in August
CWI Announce Test Squad for South Africa: The West Indies Cricket Board (CWI) has announced a 15-member Caribbean team for the two-match home Test series against South Africa in August. Let us tell you that fast bowler Kemar Roach, who was out of the Test team for about 6 months, has returned to this team. Roach played his last Test match for West Indies against Australia at the Gabba in January at the beginning of the year.
So now he will be seen playing in a two-match Test series against South Africa on Caribbean soil from August 7. The command of the West Indies cricket team against South Africa has been handed over to Craig Brathwaite, while wicketkeeper Joshua de Silva has been appointed the vice-captain of the team for the first time.
In this Test series, regular vice-captain of the Test team Alzari Joseph has been rested, who had an average performance in the three-match Test series on the recent tour of England. Not only Joseph but the performance of the entire Caribbean team was disappointing on the England tour. England defeated West Indies 3-0 in a one-sided manner in the three-match home Test series.
However, now forgetting this defeat, the Caribbean team will look to perform better in the two-match Test series against South Africa. The first Test match between the two teams will be played from 7 August to 11 August at Queen’s Park Oval Port of Spain, Trinidad, while the second Test match will be played from 15 August to 19 August at Providence Stadium, Guyana.
