Recently a two match test series was played between West Indies and South Africa. South Africa won this two match test series 1-0. Now after the test series, a three match T20 series is to be played between these two teams. West Indies has announced its team for the upcoming T20 series.

Andre Russell and Jason Holder have been rested in the West Indies team. Let us tell you, Andre Russell was included in the West Indies team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, although the host could not make it to the semi-finals of this important tournament. After the end of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Andre Russell was seen playing in The Hundred Men 2024 tournament. Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe said, ‘Andre Russell has asked us for some time to rest and we would also like to give rest to Jason Holder who has played five consecutive Tests against England and South Africa. West Indies’ brilliant fast bowler Alzari Joseph has also been rested for the upcoming T20 series. West Indies captaincy has been handed over to Rovman Powell while Roston Chase has been appointed vice-captain.

The team’s head coach Darren Sammy said, ‘It is always a big deal to perform against a strong team like South Africa. We would definitely like to win the upcoming T20 series.
