So now Cricket West Indies is also going to do this. In this regard, the Board has also got a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by the players on Thursday, January 25 and the cricketers playing in the country without gender discrimination will be able to get equal salary.

This MoU was signed in the presence of representatives of Cricket West Indies and West Indies Players Association (WIPA). After this decision, efforts will now be made to achieve parity in international and regional match fees, international captain’s allowances, international team prize money and regional individual prize money for all West Indies cricketers in the country by October 1, 2027.

Cricket West Indies President gave a big statement

On the other hand, on this historic occasion, Cricket West Indies President Dr Kishore Shallow said while quoting the International Cricket Council – This is a historic day for West Indies cricket. As we improve our match fee structure and grading.

After this we are taking an important step towards creating a more inclusive and progressive cricket structure. This decision reflects our unwavering commitment to gender equality and acknowledges the immense contribution of women players to West Indies cricket.

Dr. Kishore Shailo further said- Earlier, we have also made adequate improvements for the team going abroad. This mandated that the senior West Indies women’s team travel business class and be accommodated in a single room during international matches.
