Looking at the amazing form of Karun Nair in the Maharaja Trophy, it seems that he should be given the chance in the Test team which he deserves.
Mysore Warriors captain Karun Nair continued his excellent form by scoring his fourth half-century of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2024 on Wednesday, August 28. He achieved this feat in the 27th match against Mangalore Dragons at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
Chasing a target of 179, Mysore opener Karthik CA (14 off 19 balls) struggled during his time at the crease. However, SU Karthik and Karun Nair put on a brilliant 107-run stand off 57 balls for the second wicket. Karthik finished with 69 off 52 balls, which included seven fours and two sixes.
Nair, who scored an unbeaten 80 against Hubli Tigers in the last match, once again gave a match-winning performance. Karun Nair wants to return to Team India
Karun Nair played his last international match for India in March 2017, but the 32-year-old has not lost hope of returning to Test cricket. This is the format in which he has scored a triple century. However, he did not get further opportunities in the team after that.
The Jodhpur-born player has scored a lot of runs in the Ranji Trophy and the English County circuit in recent times and has reminded everyone of his batting ability. Looking at Nair’s amazing form, it seems that he should be given the chance in the Test team which he deserves. What did he say on his return-
“Everyone plays to represent their country and that is my goal now – to play Test cricket again. I have full faith in my ability and I think I can earn a spot in the team.”
