Recently, Root scored the 33rd century of his Test career.
Former England cricket team captain Joe Root has created history by scoring the 33rd century of his career in the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka at the historic Lord’s ground in London. After this century, he has jointly come on the first position in terms of scoring the most centuries for England. Root has equaled former English captain Alastair Cook. This is Root’s 6th century of his career at Lord’s.
So in the match, when he was batting on 99 runs, he completed his century in 162 balls by hitting a boundary against Lahiru Kumara. After this, after scoring 143 runs, he played a shot against Milan Rathnayak and got caught by Pathum Nissanka at point. At the time of Root’s dismissal, England had scored 308 runs and England is currently in a better position in the match after the end of the first day.
On the other hand, after Joe Root’s excellent innings, former England cricket team captain Michael Vaughan was seen comparing Root with the test career of former Indian captain and run machine Virat Kohli.
Let us tell you that Vaughan has posted a photo on his official X account comparing the Test careers of Virat and Root. In the caption of this photo, he wrote – Good Morning India.
As soon as he shared this post on social media, the anger of the fans reached the seventh sky. After this, cricket fans were seen scolding Michael Vaughan on social media itself.
See how fans taught Michael Vaughan a lesson
