The 22nd match of IPL 2024 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to bowl and invited Kolkata to bat first. Overall, Kolkata Knight Riders gave a target of 138 runs to Chennai Super Kings.

Ruturaj Gaikwad played captaincy innings

Chasing the target, it was easy for CSK to achieve the target on home ground but the game could turn at any time. However, Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad made a partnership of 27 runs. Rachin was out after scoring 15 runs. After that Ajinkya Rahane was to come to the crease but due to muscle strain, Daryl Mitchell came to the crease to support Ruturaj. He along with Ruturaj made a partnership of 70 runs and ensured the team’s victory. In the midst of this partnership, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored his half-century in 45 balls. However, Daryl Mitchell could not save his wicket till the end and scored 25 runs in 19 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six.
