Anshul Kamboj ripped apart the India B batting order with his pace bowling and recorded his best bowling performance in first-class cricket on the fourth day of the fourth match of the Duleep Trophy 2024. Kamboj bowled sensationally (8/69) to bundle out India B for 332 in their first innings and help India C take a massive 197-run lead.
Kamboj had taken five wickets on the third day of the match and then on Sunday he ended India B’s innings by taking three wickets. Fast bowler Kamboj became the third fast bowler to take eight wickets in Duleep Trophy after Debashish Mohanty (10/46) and Ashok Dinda (8/123). Kamboj dismissed batsman Narayan Jagadeesan (70) and then four other batsmen.
After dismissing Mushir Khan (1) and Sarfaraz Khan (16) LBW, he got Rinku Singh (06) caught by Ishan Kishan, while Nitish Kumar Reddy was bowled after scoring two runs. On the fourth day, he dismissed Rahul Chahar, Navdeep Saini and Mukesh Kumar. Let us tell you that before this match, Kamboj had not taken more than three wickets in an innings in his last 14 first-class matches.

Haryana fast bowler Kamboj has 23 wickets in 15 List-A matches. Before making his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2024, Kamboj had played only nine T20 matches. Kamboj had a very up and down debut for Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he bowled Travis Head, but the ball was declared a no-ball. Kamboj took two wickets in three matches for Mumbai Indians.
It is worth noting that the match played between India B and India C was a draw. India C scored 525 runs in its first innings in response to which India B could score only 332 runs in its first innings. In the second innings, India C declared the innings at a score of 128 for 4 wickets. But due to no result in the match, the match was declared a draw.
