Sarfaraz Khan says ‘sorry’ to Sunil Gavaskar: Team India won the Test series against England 4-1 by winning the Dharamsala Test match by one innings and 64 runs. Sarfaraz Khan made his debut for Team India in the third Test match against England. Sarfaraz Khan scored 200 runs for India in 5 innings of 3 test matches. Sarfaraz Khan was batting well in the last Test match played in Dharamshala, but due to poor shot selection he lost his wicket for 56 runs.

Former Indian veteran player Sunil Gavaskar was very angry with the poor shot selection of Sarfaraz Khan. After which Sarfaraz Khan apologized to Sunil Gavaskar for his poor shot selection.

After the first day of the Dharamshala Test, Sunil Gavaskar talked to Sarfaraz Khan about the importance of shot selection in Test cricket. But Sarfaraz got out due to poor shot selection. Due to which Sunil Gavaskar got angry.

Sunil Gavaskar had said while commenting, ‘The ball was pitched high, it was not short enough for that shot. I mean you are playing the first ball after the tee break. Give yourself some time. Don Bradman told me, ‘Every ball I face, even if I am on 200, I feel as if I am on 0.’ And here (Sarfaraz) is playing such a shot on the first ball of the session.”

After being out due to poor shot selection, Sarfaraz Khan apologized to Sunil Gavaskar, and said that he would not repeat such a mistake again. Shivam Bhatia was also present with both of them during the meeting between Sarfaraz Khan and Sunil Gavaskar on the first day of the Dharamshala Test. Sarfaraz Khan talked to Shivam Bhatia after getting out.

Shivam Bhatia told, ‘Sunil was telling him that the most important thing is the selection of shots, which is very important. The conversation continued with him for about 45 minutes. Then, immediately after the tea break in the match, he was out for a very stupid shot. Sunil was very angry and asked during the commentary what he was doing. The next day, Sarfaraz was with me again and said, ‘Sir, please Mr. Say sorry to Gavaskar – I made a mistake! I won’t make that mistake again.
