The 30th match of the 17th season of IPL was played at M Chinnaswamy ground in Bengaluru. In this match, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad were face to face. In which Sunrisers Hyderabad gave a record-breaking performance and won over RCB by 25 runs. In this match, Hyderabad, batting first, scored a record 287 runs on the basis of Travis Head’s century. However, in reply, RCB team could score only 262 runs for 7 wickets. Dinesh Karthik contributed the maximum 83 runs for RCB.
Out-of-form Glenn Maxwell did not play this match. He had asked Du Plessis and the support staff to exclude himself from the playing eleven. After this match, he has drawn everyone’s attention to the positive things about RCB.
What did Glenn Maxwell say?
“I think the surprising thing is that we are very strong as a group. We had a very good meeting last night after the training. Everyone was present together and then everyone spoke honestly and openly about each other. Everyone shared their views on where we are making mistakes in batting as well as bowling and how we need to improve it. This whole meeting was about how we will move forward as a team. Tonight we got some good signals that we are implementing whatever we talked about in the meeting. You just have to watch the batting tonight, it looked like we showed much better intent throughout the innings.”
“We kept the pressure on with the bat, I think we kept fighting for the win till the last minute. But it was really difficult to score 288 runs, but I felt that we made good progress in batting. Yes, we performed very poorly with the ball and that was our fault. “Hopefully we will progress on both sides of our game over the next few games.”
