England whiteball captain Jos Buttler is going to return after injury. Buttler has been away from action since the T20 World Cup in June. However, even after his return, Jos Buttler will not be seen keeping wickets in the T20 series against West Indies. The responsibility of wicketkeeping has been entrusted to Phil Salt.

Butler did not play in the whiteball series against Australia. So Phil Salt was given the responsibility of T-20 captain and Harry Brook was made the captain of the ODI team. Butler was last seen in the T20 World Cup semi-final 2024 against India. Now after a gap of six months he will return to the field.

Ahead of the third ODI in Barbados, Phil Salt said that he likes wicketkeeping, but he has not done much wicketkeeping for England. Salt also said that he feels he can contribute the most to the team through this.

Salt has kept for England in 13 of their 59 international matches and is also the team’s keeper in the ongoing ODI series against the West Indies. Recently, in the second ODI against West Indies, he scored 59 runs with the help of eight fours and helped his team get a great start while chasing the target of 329 runs.

England won the match by five wickets with valuable contributions from Liam Livingstone (124*), Jacob Bethel (55) and Sam Curran (52). At present the series is tied at 1-1. Now England would like to win the series by winning the third and last ODI match in Barbados.
