WI vs SA: West Indies clean sweep South Africa 3-0, register a brilliant 8-wicket win in the third T20


West Indies chased down the target of 164 runs against South Africa in the third T20 match with 37 balls to spare.

WI vs SA: The T20 World Cup 2024 is to be played from June 2 under the joint hosting of West Indies and USA. Before this tournament, a three-match T20 series was played between West Indies and South Africa. The third match of the series was played today (May 27) at Sabina Park, Kingston.

In this (WI vs SA 3rd T20I) match, South Africa batted first and scored 163 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. In response, West Indies chased the target with 37 balls remaining and won by 8 wickets. After this victory, the host team West Indies has won the series 3-0.

WI vs SA: Captain Rassie van der Dussen played a half-century innings

Batting first against West Indies, South Africa suffered the first blow in the second over at a score of 9. Reeza Hendricks (6) lost his wicket against Shamar Joseph. After which the team lost 4 wickets at a score of 50. Ryan Rickelton (18), Quinton de Kock (19) and Matthew Breetzke (5) returned to the pavilion cheaply.

Vian Mulder and Rassie van der Dussen again shared a 77-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Vian Mulder scored 36 runs in 28 balls. Rassie van der Dussen scored 51 runs in 31 balls with the help of one four and 5 sixes. Due to which the team was able to reach a total of 163.

For West Indies, Obed McCoy took 3 wickets for 39 runs in 4 overs. While Shamar Joseph and Gudakesh Moti took 2-2 wickets each.

Johnson Charles’ innings gave West Indies a win

WI vs SA: West Indies got off to a great start chasing the target of 164 runs. There was a partnership of 92 runs for the first wicket between Brandon King and Johnson Charles. Johnson Charles played an innings of 69 runs in 26 balls with the help of 9 fours and 5 sixes.

Captain Brandon King played an innings of 44 runs with the help of 2 fours and 4 sixes in 28 balls. After which Kyle Mayers played an unbeaten innings of 36 runs with the help of 4 sixes in 23 balls and led the team to victory. Gerald Coetzee and Nkaba Peter took 1-1 wickets for South Africa.
