It’s just a situation for me so it doesn’t really bother me too much – Steve Smith
Team India is going to tour Australia in November for a five-match Test series under the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Australian team had to face a 2-1 defeat in the last two Test series against India at home. In the upcoming series, the team would like to give a crushing defeat to Rohit Sharma and company. Meanwhile, questions remain about veteran batsman Steve Smith’s opening.
After David Warner’s retirement, Smith had expressed his desire to open in Tests and the management backed him and gave him that position. But now Steve Smith has not been able to show anything special in the opening position. He played an innings of 91 runs in the Gaba Test against West Indies, which is his first fifty-plus score in four innings while opening.
I am not upset in any way- Steve Smith
Australian batsman Steve Smith says that he just wants to score runs for the team in the home Test series against India and is not too worried about his batting position. Steve Smith said while talking on Code Sports,
You’ll have to ask the men in charge but I’m not upset in any way. There’s some challenging conditions with the new ball. So I would love to score a few more runs. Sometimes that’s how it is, but I played quite well in the second innings at the Gabba where unfortunately we couldn’t get the win. It’s just a situation for me so it doesn’t really bother me too much.
Smith wants to play IPL again
Steve Smith has expressed his disappointment over not being included in the Australian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. Smith has also expressed his desire to play in the IPL again.
I don’t know about international T20. You’ll have to ask the selectors. I was disappointed not to be in the World Cup but that’s the way things go. They all want big hitters. I would definitely love to be part of the IPL again. So just keep scoring runs, you never know anything can happen.
