Sunil Narine, who was missing from international cricket for West Indies since 2019, had announced his retirement in November last year. While playing in IPL this year, this legendary West Indies all-rounder has done wonders for KKR. In the 7 matches played by Sunil Narayan, he has scored 286 runs at a strike rate of 176.54. In this innings he has scored 1 half-century and 1 century. He also performed well in bowling, taking 9 wickets in 7 matches at an economy rate of 7.10.

Seeing his strong form, West Indies captain Rovman Powell (who is part of Rajasthan Royals this season) has requested him to play for the team again. Powell wants Sunil Narine to return from retirement and play the upcoming T20 World Cup with the West Indies team.

For this, he has also employed Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo, so that he can convince Sunil Narayan to play. After this statement of Powell, questions started being raised everywhere and everyone wants to know from Sunil what his decision is. Sunil Narayan has now broken his silence regarding this matter.

Will Sunil Narine play T20 World Cup or not?

Sunil Narayan has indicated on Instagram that he is not going to retire from international cricket.

“I am happy and grateful that because of my form, people want me to come out of retirement and play the upcoming T20 World Cup. But I had chosen to make peace with the decision of retirement and now the doors of return are closed. I will be supporting the boys playing for West Indies who have worked hard over the last few months to get into the national team. These players deserve to win another T20 World Cup title and I would like to wish them all the best.”
