The West Indies cricket team has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. It is worth noting that recently the tournament has been shifted from Bangladesh to UAE due to bad political situation. So now West Indies has announced its team.

Also, veteran all-rounder Deandra Dottin, who retired from cricket in 2022, has returned to this team. It is worth noting that the player who captained Barbados in the Commonwealth Games 2022 had said goodbye to the game due to personal reasons and bad atmosphere in the team.

However, she then withdrew her retirement decision just two months ago before the Women’s Caribbean Premier League. When the West Indies Cricket Board (CWI) announced the upcoming T20 World Cup, fans were not surprised to see Dateen’s name in it. On the other hand, on the return of the player who scored the fastest century in women’s T20 history to the Caribbean women’s team, Cricket West Indies President Kishore Shallow said-

We have a good mix of experienced and young players. We have some players who are as young as 19. I think Zayda is a lot younger. Apart from that, there are one or two more young players. So, I am really happy with the selection of this team. Apart from that, I think as West Indies, we are all excited to see Deandra Datin back.
