The first ‘semi-final’ match of the tournament was played on 26 July between the Indian women’s team and the Bangladesh women’s team in Dambulla. India defeated Bangladesh in the first semi-final
In the first ‘semi-final’ match, after winning the toss and batting first, the Bangladeshi women’s team scored 80 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Only two batsmen from the opposition team were able to reach double figures. Batting at number four for the team, Nigar Sultana scored the highest 32 runs. Apart from her, Shorna Akhtar played an unbeaten innings of 19 runs in 18 balls.
Renuka Singh took the maximum of 3 wickets while bowling fiercely in the ‘semi-final’ match on behalf of the Indian women’s team. Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan in the second semi-final
The second ‘semi final’ match of the tournament was played between the women’s team of Sri Lanka and Pakistan. In this match, after losing the toss and batting first, the Pakistan women’s team managed to score 140 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. While chasing the target, the Sri Lankan women’s team achieved this target at the loss of 7 wickets in 19.5 overs. While chasing the target, Sri Lankan captain Chamari Atapattu played the highest half-century innings of 63 runs with the help of 9 fours and 1 six in 48 balls.
The final match will be played on July 28
The final match of the tournament will now be played on 28 July between the Indian women’s team and the Sri Lankan women’s team at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla. Let us tell you that India has won this trophy 8 times so far and this will be their ninth final. Earlier, Bangladesh had won the trophy by defeating India in the final of the 2018 Women’s Asia Cup.
