Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. registered their second win in the tournament
A match was played between India and UAE in the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 today, where Harmanpreet Kaur and company defeated UAE by 78 runs. With this, India has registered its second win in the tournament. Batting first, Team India scored a huge score of 201 runs with the help of half-century innings of Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh. In response, UAE could score only 123 runs in the stipulated overs.
Batting first after losing the toss, India did not have a good start and lost three important wickets in the powerplay itself. Kavisha Egodage took the wicket of Mandhana (13) on the second ball of the third over. After this, Shefali Verma also scored 37 runs and was caught by Tirtha Satish on the ball of Samaira Dharnidhar. In the last over of the powerplay, Heena Hotchandani bowled Dayalan Hemalatha and gave India the third blow.
However, after this Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh batted brilliantly. Both the batsmen scored half-centuries and took India to a strong score. Captain Harmanpreet scored 66 runs in 47 balls, which included 7 fours and a six. Richa Ghosh played an unbeaten innings of 12 runs in 29 balls with the help of 12 fours and a six. Kavisha took two wickets for UAE.
Indian bowlers restricted UAE to 123 runs
In response, UAE had a very bad start while chasing the target and could not recover from it till the end. In front of the tight bowling of the Indian bowlers, the team could only score 123 runs for 7 wickets in the stipulated overs. Kavisha Egodage scored the highest unbeaten 40 runs for the team. Captain Isha Rohit Oja scored 38 runs. Apart from these two, other batsmen could not do anything special.
Deepti Sharma once again bowled brilliantly for India. She took two wickets for 23 runs in four overs. Apart from this, Renuka, Tanuja, Pooja and Radha Yadav got 1-1 wickets each.
