Women’s T20 World Cup is proposed in October 2024
Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: This time the Women’s T20 World Cup will be played in Bangladesh. However, looking at the situation prevailing in Bangladesh for some time, there seems to be a cloud over Bangladesh’s hosting rights.
But even amid the ongoing political turmoil in the country, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wants to retain the hosting rights of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 at any cost. It is worth noting that this time the 9th season of the tournament is proposed for the first time in the country in the month of October. The first match will be played on October 3, while the final match will be played on October 20.
So, BCB is making every possible effort with the recently formed interim government in the country. However, the political situation in Bangladesh is so bad that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Awami League, who was in power for 15 years, had to leave the country.
A big statement from the CEO of BCB came out
Let us tell you that the Bangladesh Cricket Board had written a letter to the Army Chief regarding providing security during the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the country. So now BCB Chief Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury said about this-
We had written a letter to the Army Chief regarding security, but by then the interim government had been formed. Since it has been formed now, they will give it priority as required. As of now, we have spoken to them and the sooner we get a response, the better we will be able to understand the situation. We spoke to them very late yesterday (Thursday) and they had very little time for it.
Also, let us tell you that amid the political turmoil in the country, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is not able to carry out its daily work. Most of the people involved in the top leadership of the board are not present in Bangladesh at the moment. It will be interesting to see how long it will take for the board to function like before?
