WPL 2024, DEL-W vs MUM-W: The 12th match of the Women’s Premier League 2024 was played between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur had decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Batting first, Delhi Capitals put 192 runs on the board at the loss of 4 wickets. While chasing the target, Mumbai Indians team could score only 163 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs and Delhi won by 29 runs.

WPL 2024: Jemimah Rodrigues played a brilliant innings

The pair of Meg Lanning and Shefali Verma gave a great start to Delhi Capitals. There was a partnership of 48 runs between the two for the first wicket. Shefali Verma played an inning of 28 runs in 12 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Shefali Verma lost her wicket against Shabnam Ismail in the fifth over. Meg Lanning played an inning of 53 runs in 38 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Jemimah Rodrigues played an inning of 69 runs in 33 balls with the help of 8 fours and 3 sixes. On the strength of which Delhi Capitals put 192 runs on the board. Shabnam Ismail, Saika Ishaq and Haley Mathews took 1-1 wicket for Mumbai Indians.

Delhi Capitals bowlers showed amazing performance

Mumbai Indians, who set out to chase the target, faced setbacks early. In the very first over, Marijan Kapp showed Yastika Bhatia the way to the pavilion for 6 runs. After which, in the second over, Shikha Pandey dismissed Nat Siver-Brunt for 5 runs. Marizanne Kapp then targeted Harmanpreet Kaur in the third over. Harmanpreet Kaur could score only 6 runs.

Amanjot Kaur played the highest innings for the team of 42 runs in 27 balls with the help of 7 fours. Amelia Kar (17), Pooja Vastrakar (17) and S. Sajna scored (24) runs. For Delhi Capitals, Jess Jonassen took the maximum of 3 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs, while Marizanne Kapp took 2 wickets. Apart from these, Shikha Pandey, Titas Sadhu and Radha Yadav took 1 wicket each.
