WPL 2024, BAN-W vs MUM-W: The 9th match of the Women’s Premier League 2024 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore Women and Mumbai Indians Women. Mumbai Indians captain Nat Siver-Brunt won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore team was able to score only 131 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. Mumbai Indians chased the target with 29 balls remaining and won by 7 wickets.

WPL 2024: Ellis Perry played important innings for Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore, who came to bat first against Mumbai Indians, got their first blow in the third over. Captain Smriti Mandhana became the victim of Ishi Wong after scoring 9 runs. After which Sophie Devine (9), S. Meghna (11), and Richa Ghosh (7) returned to the pavilion.

Taking the responsibility of the team, Ellis Perry played an unbeaten inning of 44 runs in 38 balls with the help of 5 fours. Georgia Wareham made an important contribution by playing an innings of 27 runs in 20 balls. Nat Siver-Brunt and Pooja Vastrakar took 2-2 wickets for Mumbai Indians. Ishi Wong and Saika Ishaq took 1-1 wicket each.

Mumbai Indians got an easy victory

Mumbai Indians got off to a great start while chasing the target against Royal Challengers Bangalore. There was a partnership of 45 runs for the first wicket between Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Mathews. Hayley Mathews lost her wicket against Sophie Devine in the fourth over after scoring 26 runs in 21 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six. Whereas Yastika Bhatia, after scoring 31 runs in 15 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes, was out against Shreyanka Patil in the 8th over.

Captain Nate Siver-Brunt played an innings of 27 runs. Amelia Kar played an unbeaten inning of 40 runs with the help of 7 fours in 24 balls, and won the match for the team. Sophie Devine, Georgia Wareham and Shreyanka Patil took 1 wicket each for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
