In the last match of the league stage in WPL 2024, Delhi Capitals defeated Gujarat Giants by 7 wickets. With this victory, Delhi has directly made its place in the final of the tournament. Capitals achieved the target of 127 runs given by Gujarat thanks to Shefali Verma’s brilliant 71 runs. Shefali was adjudged Player of the Match for her explosive innings.
Gujarat batsmen failed again
Gujarat Giants, batting first in the last match of the league stage, scored 126 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target of 127 runs, Delhi achieved the target without taking any risk by losing 3 wickets in 13.1 overs. After the early dismissals of Meg Lanning (18) and Alice Capsey (0), Shefali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues took over the innings.
Shefali once again looked in rhythm. He batted brilliantly and scored a brilliant half-century. It seemed that she would return after leading the team to victory, but that could not happen.
